People often ask me "How did you learn how to hack?" The answer: by reading. This page is a collection of the blog posts and other articles that I have accumulated over the years of my journey. Enjoy!

AI is taking over the world, and our jobs. What does this mean for the rest of us? I'm just going to write up what I found interesting because the post itself is very long.

The difference between execution and idea is now forever changed. They give an example of a Jungle gym: the kid wants to get to the other side; to do this, they must have the ability to do so. There is no magic button to teleport you, meaning you actually have to develop the skill to do it. With skills in the real world, you want to be able to do the thing, while having AI speed it up. This requires that A) the clanker follows your orders, B) you not be disciplined, and C) still do work, though. Not all of these can exist together. Thus, you must be disciplined.

They break the AI people into two groups: the non-technical technical club (NTTC) and the anti-clanker clank club (ACCC). The NTTC wants the credit for the clankers' intelligence and boosts their usage; it's made them technical. The ACCC hates the clankers but knows it's the best thing for them to use. So, they will use them but not give the AI any credit. One is ignorant of their AI psychosis while the other is self-aware.

Judgement is easier than construction. There are a lot more movie critics than directors. By clanking around, you can accept judgment without ever constructing anything. The thought is that the eyes get smarter at what is good (judgment), but the hands get stupider (construction).

autotelically is the process of doing something for the love of the game and not for other external motives. You can't make yourself love the activity though; it has to be internal to you. It makes no point on whether this is good for your employment or not.
